Lovelies, how was your weekend? We had another busy Fall weekend at The Long Island Fair at Old Bethpage Village! It was our first time going, and it was really fun! Eric played with Miller's Crossing on the "main stage" and when they were done, I wandered off to the farm stand to get some vegetables. Restoration Farm had a lovely stand set up and I bought garlic, peppers, onions, and white beans. I can't wait to fry them up tonight in a stirfry! I've never had the chance to spend much time at a Green Market, so it was a new opportunity for me to buy vegetables in some place other than the supermarket...and I loved it! Have you ever bought your veggies and fruit at a Green Market or a Farm Stand? Do share!

  1. I go to our Farmer's Market every Tuesday to stock up on the essentials (lately, strawberries, zucchini, green beans, and the occasional tomato). I look forward to it all week!

  2. I used to avoid markets down at home because they were usually a gimmick to charge higher prices. But in Rochester, we have an amazing Public Market with at least 100 dealers with competitive pricing on local produce. Everyone is a specialist in what they grow and bring. You can also get fresh baked goods, honey, and imported European cheeses! I usually set a budget of $20 for myself and come out with more than enough veggies and fruits for the entire week.
