Our Personal Hero

In honor of today being Veteran's Day, I wanted to share some special pictures with you all. These photos were taken in China during World War II by our mother's father. He was a Marine and fought in WW II. When I came across these photos, years ago, in my grandmother's album, I fell in love with them. They were so moving and haunting. I especially love the reflection of the water in the last photo. It's amazing how an old black and white photo can hold so much emotion in it's shadows, stillness, and slight details.
