Today was my day off for lunch duty. Hoorah. All teachers need that moment in the middle of the day when they can kick their shoes off, turn on Pandora, and just relax. Today I brought a delicious wrap to eat during my mid-day siesta, and of course, while munching away, I was browsing Etsy for some good finds. I looked down at my desk and noticed the plastic bag I brought my lunch in sitting on my filing cabinet. It dawned on me that if I'm going to be bringing my lunch to school once in a while, why not invest in a lovely lunch bag for myself? It's more green than bringing plastic, a little more stylish than plastic, and would actually keep my food insulated.

I came across the Faux Bois Light Woodgrain Insulated Lunch Bag from Julie Meyer. I adore the wood grain look of it! I also love how it looks like an old brown paper lunch bag, but it's reusable, washable and "fully insulated with a water resistant nylon lining and closes with Velcro." It's machine washable, which makes everyone's lives a little easier. This bag is only 11x7 inches, so it would be a perfect size to fit in a briefcase, backpack, tote bag, or even diaper bag. You could pack your favorite sandwich and a pickle, some snacks for your next hiking trip, baby bottles, or even keep a small bottle of champagne nice and chilled for those trips to the beach next summer. I would much rather pull my lunch out of this lovely bag than an ugly non-eco friendly plastic bag from the grocery store! And, as always, what a great stocking stuffer or holiday gift to get for a friend or loved one...you could even pack it with a gift card to their favorite restaurant!
