Inspired by Natalie's moping over longed for and forgotten caramel apples on IowasThinking, I present you, my lovely readers, with the Caramel Apple Dipping Kit courtesy of the Vermont Country Store. What a fantastic gift idea, for just $20 send someone everything they need (except the apples! Why not decorate a pretty envelope with a five dollar bill in it for apple money?)-- the kit includes: "enough highly-adhering caramel, chopped peanuts, toffee, sprinkles, and wooden skewers to make 8 apples." It's a lovely fall birthday gift, a house warming gift, an autumn present, or a little surprise to say "I'm sorry you forgot to go back and buy the delicious looking caramel apples, Natalie." I can only imagine what some of my lovely fall birthday-ed friends would do with such a kit, I know some truly lovely artists and cooks who could turn an apple and some caramel into a masterpiece inside and outside of the tummy.

That exists!? How glorious! By the by, do you know the cooking website smittenkitchen.com? It's totally adorable, and happens to have this recipe for dark salted butter carmel (a bit a la francaise -- search the site for it) that I may have to make one of these fall weeks...
