Lovelies, our insanely talented costume designer cousin, Kate, is here this week with some awesome "Girls Can Do Anything: Halloween" posts!

Sherlock by Kate
Hi Lovely readers!  The Lovely Sisters have graciously allowed me to guest blog for some Halloween inspiration, and I'm so thrilled to be here!  So, continuing with the Girls Can Do Anything Halloween series, I give you today's inspiration:  Sherlock Holmes.

If you haven't seen the BBC's latest interpretation of Sherlock Holmes, please do yourself a favor and check it out.  It's fast-paced, ultra modern, and endlessly entertaining with Benedict Cumberbatch as the brilliant, but standoffish, Holmes.  (So standoffish, in fact, that he makes Big Bang Theory's Sheldon seem positively cuddly.)  To embrace this brilliant-deadly-genius-action-hero look, turn your peacoat collar up, slip on your best crime-solving blouse, and top it off with a dark scarf as social armor.  If you really want to go the distance, grab one of these "Sherlock" style (or "Deerstalker") hats from your local Halloween store - even the modern BBC show gave this hat a little wink-and-a-nod, with Holmes donning one for a few episodes!  So this Halloween, get completely preoccupied with solving impossible problems, and get inspired by textured prints, clean lines, and a silhouette that screams "mysterious, action-packed genius, coming through!"

You'll be so smartly dressed, people will ask how you got such sexy, crime-solving style.

And you'll reply, "It's elementary, my dear...Elementary."
