So, being on vacation is hard. Yes, hard. Why? Because it's hard to eat "right" and still have fun. So, what did I do? I tried my best. It's the best I can do, right? Some things I ate Gluten Free (hello, delicious GF pizza at ZPizza), and some things...
...not so much.
I have been waiting for this cake for three years. This, ladies and gents, is the famous Death by Chocolate cake from The Trellis Restaurant in Williamsburg.
And guess what?
I nearly died from it.
No, I'm not kidding.
How does anyone eat this entire piece?
There's really no way to describe this cake in words. It's just truly amazing. It's worth it's own trip to Virginia. Still not kidding.
It was seven layers of different chocolate textures and flavors. Paired with a white chocolate truffle on top, amazing chocolate ice cream, chocolate cream, and powdered/shaved chocolate.
Heaven on a plate, I tell you! Worth every bite (that I could stomach!).
(I laid in bed for a good three hours after eating this. Happiest girl ever.)
I beckon you to drive to Atlanta and try the REAL Death by Chocolate by Chef Sam Pagan of Masleon Cakes & Pastries. He is the Executive Head Chef & owner of The Seasons Bistro in McDonough. Your life will never be the same! (and I've had my share of chocolate cakes)...
