Last night Father Lovely took the brood out to see Hair on Broadway. In short, the show was energetic, colorful, bright, and quite an experience! I've never seen a show like that before (and both Jenny and I were in the theater club in school, so we saw our fair share of shows!). How could you not love any show where at the end, the audience is invited up on stage and the actors hugged and danced with everyone? It was great (no, we didn't go up on stage, but we sang along!). More than that though, I loved the fashion! I'm a fan of the retro style, especially bell-bottoms (psyched to see they are coming back!), so I loved seeing all the different styles the women wore on stage. I've thrown together three styles similar to what the actors wore, but with an updated, modern edge to them--so you could really wear these out in the world and people wouldn't think you were a hippie actor from Hair.
Style 1: Women's Sheer Peasant Top, Old Navy ($33), Blank Bell Bottoms, 25 Park ($78)
Style 2: Crocheted Peasant Tee, Calypso ($95) (I LOVE this shirt! I would love to own it...), Dawson Bell Stretch Jeans, Buckle ($80)
Style 3: Adder Tee, All Saints ($110), 7 For All Mankind Lexie Bell Bottom Jeans, Piperlime ($178)
