Lovelies, did you know today is Women's Equality Day!? It is! According to Wikipedia, "Women's Equality Day is a day proclaimed each year by the United States President to commemorate the giving of the vote to women throughout the country on an equal basis to men. Women in the United States were given the right to vote on August 26, 1920, when the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution was certified." So, today, we celebrate the strong, smart, sassy, and powerful women who led us to this moment. Two of the women who were the grand force behind the Suffragette Movement were Alice Paul and Lucy Burns; both of them were featured in the movie Iron Jawed Angels, which is about this exact topic. So, today, take a moment and thank all the women who paved the way for us young ladies to be able to vote, speak our mind, sing as loud as we want, and dance our way through life!
In honor of these amazing women, sport a "Well Behaved Women Rarely Make History" shirt or bag!
