I've been digging a bit of a longer hemline recently. Something about Autumn into Winter and leather boots makes me want to wear full skirts to my knee. I love the tall boots, knee length skirt look-- where do my boots end? WHO KNOWS.
I like pairing the outfit with a surprising tight underneath-- like a leopard print or patterned tight. It's sort of this folk 1970's Carly Simon look, can't you just picture me with my guitar? (gosh, I'm funny sometimes.) Oh, and also, it's probably the most comfortable outfit I've ever worn. I wore a knee length wrap dress and these boots to a women entrepreneurs event followed by an insanely delicious dinner with Abby at Aldea. I felt more than appropriate for both. I wore the exact outfit above to This American Life's Super Secret Christmas Show the other night, I was so glad to be comfortable, cozy and warm while I finally got to see Ira Glass in person.
The outfit above is easy and cozy-
- black dress in a cotton rayon, never wrinkles! I've worn it on planes and walked off looking chic and put together.
- patterned tights, my favorite accessory which I will and have bought all over the world.
- cashmere long cardigan-- this can be changed to change up the look, change it to a wrap sweater, a little jacket or something patterned and beaded!
- scarf-- silk scarves make my black and grey significantly more interesting!
- my soul boots, Jessica Simpson from last fall-- these boots have become my constant companions. I wear them everywhere.
