Well, hello there Monday! I can't believe we flew through this weekend already! Thursday night Luis and I headed into Brooklyn to Brooklyn Bowl after work to go to a friend's birthday party. I'd never been to Brooklyn Bowl before, but it proved itself to be a very fun, interesting place-- it's part bowling alley, part dance hall, part restaurant, part bar and all young New Yorkers. Thursday nights their DJ in residence is ?uestlove of the Roots. It was a lot of fun, this group of friends is comprised entirely of hip, young designers who do some truly amazing work. It was inspiring to be around such an accomplished group of people. And watch them blow off steam and have a great time!

Friday we said goodbye to baby brother for the rest of the semester. We were all tired and prepped for my mother's art show at the BJ Spoke gallery-- which opened on Saturday and went off without a hitch. Make sure to stop by if you're in the area-- the gallery is open late on Fridays, til 9PM. So have dinner at Jonathan's, Mac's, or Tomo, stop by the gallery after dinner, peruse and finish the evening up with ice cream from TheLiteChoice, or Herrel's. What a perfect Spring/Summer evening.

We finished up the night at Mangiamo, a first for all of us-- very good, very worth it, I'd certainly go back. The plates of family style food were humungous. The fried zucchini plate was the size of a two year old. I'm not kidding. I don't kid about food. The gnocchi a la vodka was delicious, a clear hit. And the "King Kong" a small tiered chocolate cake with a chocolate facade of the Empire State Building, and a little chocolate picture of King Kong. Perfect. And delicious.

Sunday I did a little grocery shopping at Uncle Guiseppe's out in Smithtown, I mention this for one reason-- they had karaoke going while I was there. Karaoke in a grocery store on a Sunday afternoon. Uncle Guiseppe's just changed the grocery game, they transformed the entire experience. Well done, well done.

How was your weekend, lovelies? Any highlights? Any new and note worth places visited? Share! Let's discuss!
